Take A Break At The Beautiful Wendover Woods
There are undoubtedly some beautiful spots in Buckinghamshire and the surrounding counties for you to visit if you are ever in the area, and you cannot go home until you have spent a little time in the peaceful and tranquil surroundings that nature has provided for you. However, some areas are a little more picturesque and naturally beautiful than others. One of the spots that the above applies to is Wendover Woods.
Wendover Woods is an area of woodland in the Chiltern Hills. It is actually right on the edge of the hills so it is easy to get to without too much trekking or walking. The forest covers 800 acres so it is hard to miss, but it is not just a forest. Instead, it is a family tourism spot that can provide hours of fun as well as hours of relaxation.
The area is in great condition, largely because it is owned and maintained by the Forestry Commission. Wendover Woods is therefore protected and, as such, visitors are encouraged to stick to the given paths through the trees when walking, but those paths will provide some of the best walks that you will ever have in your life. The walks are all picturesque and highly connected to the nature around them, although there is an alternative if you do not want to walk. There are also bridleways for lovely horse rides in the forest.
If you are just looking for a nice day out then you can have a picnic or a barbecue because there are areas for both, and any children that may be in your party can play in the playground area. All in all, it could be the quiet day out that you and your family need after months of the hassle of daily life at home!
