Learn To Fly At Ivinghoe Beacon!
Anyone that has looked into visiting Buckinghamshire or the surrounding area will already have discovered just how many hills there are in the area. This makes for some great views of the county and indeed some great walks for those people that love to look at the countryside and experience the tranquillity for themselves! But what about everyone else? Do these hills actually offer something different that you would not find anywhere else in the area? Ivinghoe Beacon does!
Ivinghoe Beacon is actually 249m above sea level and so has a great view of the area as well as providing a prominent marker in the landscape. It is actually between Aylesbury and Wendover so it easy enough to get to. As with all major hills and landmarks, there are some great walks, including the Icknield Way and The Ridgeway. Both are paths that begin at Ivinghoe Beacon and stretch off in different direction so you can walk until your heart’s content with nobody bothering you. It is the quickest way to lose all of your stress! There are more people there at the weekend so a weekday trip would ensure that you have all of the peace and quiet that you want and need with nobody there to bother you.
However, if you want to experience something different at Ivinghoe Beacon then you should check out the model aircraft enthusiasts that congregate there every so often. There are often people flying kites and model aeroplanes at Ivinghoe Beacon because of its height and the fact that it is so uncluttered. There is nothing around the hill itself so they can go there and enjoy their hobby without anyone else interfering. If you do therefore want a traditionally fun day out without the nature of modern day interfering then you should take a trip to Ivinghoe Beacon.
