Cliveden House

Get Into The Elite Society At Cliveden House

The early years of the 20th Century are well known for their glamour, fashion and society, well at least if you are thinking about high society. It was a little different for those people a little further down the food chain, but then again you do not think of those people when you imagine scenes at high society parties. Instead you think of families like the Astors. If you want to get an insight into how they lived then all you need to do is visit Cliveden House in Buckinghamshire because that is where the Astors lived!

Cliveden House is a gorgeous house that overlooks the River Thames and has sparkling views of the countryside around it. When you look over the area, you will feel at peace, but examining the house’s gardens a little further will indeed get you excited, if for no other reason than it has a whole host of features that will capture your attention.

Although Cliveden House itself is actually a hotel now, you can still visit it because a section of it is open to the public between April and October on Thursdays and Sundays, but the gardens are open all year round and it is there that the main features worth seeing lie in wait for you!

Cliveden House actually has a secret garden, topiary, a water garden and much more. The gardens are actually Grade I listed so they are preserved in the state that they are in at the moment. The arrangement is fantastic and you can just imagine the Astors and their friends partying the night away out there when the weather was fine. They have a perfect view, a huge house and beautiful gardens that will take your breath away. What more can you ask for?
